All volunteers are asked to bring grape jam for Sack Kids Hunger! Also, coats and blankets are needed!
Donations will be given to Sack Kids Hunger families and the North Gwinnett Co-Op, which serves local residents.
Buford Thrift Shop, Team Leader–Teresa Fowler Any Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday volunteers are needed. Especially Wed. September 15, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. because this date is the .25 cent sale! Sign up for a 2-hour shift to help hang and organize donations.
Music Ministry, Team Leader – Gary Lenz 9:00-12:00 Assist with office tasks like filing and organizing.
Gateway House Shelter in Gainesville, Team Leader – Suzanne Clegg 9:00-2:00 Help with yard work at this Women’s Shelter in Gainesville, which serves many women fleeing domestic violence. Volunteers must be 18 or older and must sign a waiver.
Work on the Church Grounds, Team Leader–Bill Hoffman 9:00- 1:00 We will be spreading mulch and doing some lawn maintenance. Bring a shovel and rake, and if you have a wheelbarrow we can use, let us know!
Kitchen Clean Up, Team Leader –Gypsi Alford 9:00- 12:00 Help Gypsi in the church kitchen and fellowship hall cleaning tables, oven, sinks, fridge, and freezers.
Bake and Take, Team Leader– Donna Agee 9:00- 12:00 Families or individuals will take cards and goodies to a homebound member, and send cards to some we have been missing at church. These members will love hearing from you. Sign up and we will be in touch!
Buford Aid Project (BAP), Team Leader–Kenny Karr 9:00- 2:00 Adults are needed to help at a local home with some porch repair. Bring a tool box and gloves.
Sanctuary Clean-Up, Team Leader –Linda McQuaig, 9:00–1:00 Remove wax from carpet, clean and polish woodwork, and other “spring cleaning” tasks. Please bring cleaning supplies and gloves.
Sack Kids Hunger, Team Leader–Beckie and Jeff Ramsey, 9:00 –2:00
We will fill sacks, decorate sacks, and make sandwiches, which we will then distribute at church from 12 –2. Children are welcome with their parents. If you have never volunteered for SKH – now is the perfect time! Space is limited.
Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, Team Leaders–Kaitlyn Miller and Josh Page, 9:00–2:00
This is a great project for youth! Adults are needed too. Plan to help with porch clean up, organizing and cleaning, plus trimming bushes! Wear your work clothes and bring hedge trimmers, sponges and buckets.
Cat Rangers Rescue in Buford, Team Leader –Sydney Yancey, 9:00–12:00
Help out at this no kill shelter by cleaning, landscaping, and playing with some cats!
Rip and Roll Bandages, Team Leader- Teresa Fowler, 9:00- 12:00
Cut and roll bandages from donated sheets for a Mission Hospital in Ghana Africa. They are always in desperate need of bandages. It helps them so much!
Nursery Volunteer, Team Leader–Susan Rosenthal, 9:30–12:00 and 12:00–3:00
Sign up for a shift in the nursery. You will help other adults care for the children 5 and younger, whose parents are serving on other GDS Projects. Indicate the shift you prefer below.
