Join the Young at Heart group on a tour of the Millennium Gate Museum. If there’s one thing we love, it’s being surprised by our city. Who knew that there was a tiny museum packed with art and history under the big archway in the middle of Atlantic Station?
The Millennium Gate Museum was founded in 2008 as a way to connect Georgia to the rest of
the world through history and art. Atlanta has been historically called “The Gate City.” The
Gate itself is a classically styled monumental arch, designed in the tradition of a classical Roman triumphal arch. The museum includes history from Georgia’s pre-Columbian Native American history, 16th century Spanish costal settlement and artifacts from General Oglethorpe’s Colony of Georgia.
