At Buford First, we recognize that music is an essential part of our church and of our worship services. Through this ministry, people of all ages and abilities serve joyfully in our many music ensembles.

Whether you’re interested in choirs, handbells and chimes, or drama and worship arts, there is a place for you here. Our rehearsals are fun and challenging, provide fellowship with other church members, and are firmly grounded in Christian faith.

Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir Weekly Rehearsals
Chancel Choir rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings (year round) from 7:00-8:30 pm.

The Chancel Choir is the foundation of our music ministry. This choir shares music weekly during our worship services and also performs at other church activities and community events throughout the year. All styles of music are used to bring honor and glory to God. A Lessons and Carols service and Holy Week presentation are typical highlights of our year.

Chancel Ringers

Chancel Ringers Weekly Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals are on Sunday evenings (Labor Day to Memorial Day) from 6:30-7:30 pm.

The Chancel Ringers is a group of adult handbell ringers that is dedicated, motivated and always striving to reach the next level. We perform in worship on a monthly basis and always work toward a performance tour in the spring of each year.

Youth Choir

Youth Choir Weekly Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons (during the school year) from 4:30-5:15 pm.

The Youth Choir sing a wide variety of musical literature ranging from traditional choral anthems to contemporary praise and worship songs. The youth provide all the music during a Youth Worship Service on Sunday morning once a year. The Youth Choir also sings regularly with our Praise Band. The youth choir plans to attend the bi-annual Atlanta Choristers Guild Youth Choir Festival, and also plans go on a Youth Choir Tour each summer.

Youth Bells

Youth Bells Weekly Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings (during the school year) from 6:00-6:45 pm.

The Youth Bells ensemble is available to youth in 6th through 12th grades. This program is great for beginning ringers or as a continuation of the tone chime program. Introductory ringing techniques, music literacy and performance skills are all important to this ministry.

Tone Chimes

Tone Chimes Weekly Rehearsal
Weekly rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons (during the school year) from 4:30-5:15 pm.

The Tone Chimes ensemble is available to children in 3rd through 5th grades. Ringing technique and musical literacy are strong components of the program. The Tone Chimes participate in worship and have performed in concerts outside the church.

G.L.O.W. Children’s Choir

G.L.O.W. Children’s Choir Weekly Program
G.L.O.W. meets weekly on Sunday evenings (during the school year) from 5:30-6:30 pm.

The G.L.O.W. (God Lights Our World) Children’s Choir is made up of three groups:

  • Angelus Choir: 3-4 year olds
  • Cherub Choir: K-2nd graders
  • Junior Choir: 3rd-5th graders

The three G.L.O.W. Children’s Choirs will occasionally sing at our worship services and are very important to our worship experience at Buford First. The core values of our “Growing in Grace” curriculum are faith, worship, music education, ministry, and Jesus is Lord. We also make sure that the children learn and experience how much fun music ministry can be.

All children and youth participating in music ministry should have a signed media and medical release form on file. If the church does not have one on file, you can download one here and return it to the church.
