Thank you for visiting our web site. The mission of Buford First United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At the heart of this mission is our worship services. We would be honored to have you join us Sunday in our beautiful sanctuary for one of our traditional services beginning at either 8:40 or 10:55 am.
We’ve included a list of some Frequently Asked Questions at the bottom of this page that many of our visitors have asked us over the years. Visitor FAQs
How long are the worship services?
Each worship service lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Where do I park and enter the building?
Plenty of parking is available in our main parking lot as well as some spaces along Main Street directly in front of the church. First time visitors are invited to park in specially designated spots in our main parking lot. you can enter the building through the main front doors which lead directly to our sanctuary.
What should I wear?
We invite you to dress as you feel comfortable. You will observe suits and ties, to casual dress clothes, to jeans and comfortable shirts.
Where do I take my children?
Children are always welcome in our worship services and we also provide childcare for infants and toddlers at both of our worship times and during our Sunday School hour at 10:00 am. Ushers at the doors of our sanctuary will be happy to help you locate the appropriate room for your child/children. See the Sunday School & Worship section for more information on these programs.
What time should I arrive?
Our worship times are 8:40 am and 10:55 am. If you have children you will want to allow 10-15 minutes to get them settled in their rooms before you head for the sanctuary. You will be asked to sign your children in and out with our childcare workers and teachers in accordance with our policies. Adult Sunday School classes are also offered between the two services at 10:00 am.
Will I be asked to stand or introduce myself?
We will not single out a visitor or guest by asking you to stand or raise your hand. We welcome you to introduce yourself to one of our Ushers who will be happy to give you a special gift from our church to you which contains information you might find useful.
Will I need to give money during the offering?
Although we do take an offering during each service, guests should never feel that we expect them to give. Our worship service is our gift to you as a first time guest so just pass the plate or basket on by and enjoy the service.
How can I join Buford First United Methodist Church?
Membership is open to all people who wish to share in the worship of God and live a Christian life. You may become a member by profession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, or by transfer from the church to which you now belong.
