National Missions

Appalachia Service Project (ASP)

The Appalachia Service Project (ASP) serves the Appalachia region, which includes Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky.  The youth (students going into 9th grade or older) and adults at BFUMC have been participating in ASP since 2000.  Adults and youth work together for local families to make their homes warmer, safer, and drier.  For the upcoming ASP dates or for more information, go to the ASP page or contact the church office at 770-945-7438.

Hinton Rural Life Center (HRLC)

The Hinton Rural Life Center (HRLC) is very much like ASP.  The work done is for families in the Appalachian Mountain Region.  For the upcoming HRLC dates or for more information, contact the church office at 770-945-7438.

Mississippi Mission Trips

The Buford United Methodist Men have gone on several mission trips to Mississippi to help in the recovery efforts caused by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters that have occurred over the past several years. For information on upcoming mission trips, go to the BUMM page for information on how to contact the Buford United Methodist Men.

Miracle Mission Gift

In the Spring of 2011, the Youth Choir’s Miracle Mission Gift was to provide 31 Vashti Children’s Home residents with a deep sea fishing trip in the Summer of 2011.  This is a therapeutic trip which the children look forward to every year.  We’re pleased to announce that the Youth Choir was able to make this miracle happen!  The Youth Choir was also able to take a mission trip through South Georgia and Florida for Spring Break, which included a special visit to the Vashti Children’s Home in Thomasville, Georgia.
