GAP stands for the Gainesville AID Project. Our youth have served through GAP for over 20 years! They love the people, the work, and the fun! We stay at the Antioch Church Campground in Gainesville. We eat our meals at the Antioch UMC just down the road. Around 100 youth are sent out in teams of 8 or 10 to do yard work, house work, and minor home repair for the residents of Gainesville. Each evening we have a sharing time and worship. We celebrate on Sunday morning in the 11:00 worship at Antioch UMC. Cost is only $90.00! The dates this year are June 9-13.

To Nassau!

Just beyond the lush and extravagant scenery of the Nassau beaches rest communities of people who see the white, sandy beaches and green water from a completely different view. Many of the thousands of Haitian immigrants that live in Nassau survive only through the support from local shelters, churches and food pantries. Many live on the island for years before ever being able to find a job. Part of our mission will be providing support and resources to the ministries and churches that are considered the lifeblood of this Haitian immigrant population.

Here is our team of 18! Please pray for these youth and adults as they serve God in Nassau!

Our group will be working on homes in am AIDS Camp there, providing better housing for families who have been affected by this terrible disease.

Hinton Rural Life Center

Hinton Rural Life Center is in Hayesville, NC on Lake Chatuge. The youth will spend a week there this summer to work on home repair. We join with groups from all over the U.S. in work and worship. College students and adults serve as staff, and oversee the work teams. The dates are July 25-30. Sign up with a $50.00 deposit by February 28. The trip is $395.00, but we will do lots of fund raising! Youth going into 7th grade and older are eligible.

The UMW has 3 circles for women at BFUMC.

The Florence Garner Circle

Meets the First Thursday evening of the month at 7:00 p.m.

The Carol Scott Circle

Meets the third Friday morning of the month at 9:30 a.m.

A nursery is provided.

The Effie Wood Circle

Meets the first Tuesday evening of the month at 7:00 p.m.

All these groups meet in the Benson House which is behind the main building and faces Hill Street.
