Alternative Christmas
What is an alternative Christmas? It’s a reminder that Jesus is the real reason we celebrate Christmas. The Alternative Christmas Giving Program provides a unique gift giving opportunity that honors your family, friends and even co-workers, while spreading God’s love to people in real need. Each year, Buford First selects several local, regional, and worldwide charities and organizations for Alternative Christmas giving.

The Alternative Christmas program of Buford First United Methodist Church allows you to purchase a Christmas gift for someone in the form of a contribution to a worthwhile ministry. The ministry’s wish list brochure will be available in the church Fellowship Hall beginning November 6. When you purchase a gift, you will receive a special card to present to your relative or friend.

How Do I Purchase My Alternative Christmas Gifts?
The Alternative Christmas table will be in the Fellowship Hall and someone will be there to take your order on Sundays after the 8:45 am worship service and again before and after the 11:00 am service. You may also make your purchase during the WOW Wednesday programs on November 9 and 16. When placing your order, you’ll only need to write one check payable to Buford First United Methodist Church for the entire purchase.
How Can I Get My Children To Learn About the Real Meaning of Christmas?
Funny you should ask! The children will have their own shopping list and will be able to come to the Fellowship Hall on December 4th during the Sunday School hour (10:00 am) or during the Journey to Bethlehem that afternoon from 12:15 to 3:15 pm.
