Suzanne Clegg

Suzanne Clegg was born and grew up in Atlanta, where she was an active Youth Group Member of St. John UMC. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Social Work. Suzanne has served on several church staffs, including St. James UMC in Athens, and Tucker First UMC. She joined Buford First in 1989, and joined the staff in 1991. She has served in several different roles at BFUMC, but loves being the Youth Pastor! She is married to Randy Clegg, who helps her in her ministry in many ways! She and Randy have 3 wonderful children: Katie, Emily, and William. Suzanne loves to camp, and takes the youth on a camp-out every year. She also loves Charles Dickens’ novels and hopes to visit England one day. Some of her favorite Bible Verses come from Jeremiah 29. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Diana Foster is a native of Western Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Music in Conducting from West Virginia University. She has also been taking coursework through Asbury Seminary seeking a Master of Divinity Degree. Diana has taught music for all levels pre-school through older adult in church and school settings since 1998. Arriving in Buford in August 2007, Diana has maintained an active music ministry that includes choirs and handbells for all ages. She is married to Tom Foster, who works in publishing and they have 2 young children. Diana loves worship, music, and shopping. She is also an avid football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia University Mountaineers. Her favorite Bible Verse is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

Heather Hagler

Heather grew up in the beautiful mountains of Pikeville, Kentucky. She graduated from Asbury University with a BA in Christian Ministries and Bible. While at Asbury University, Heather was called to Children’s Ministry. She received her MA from Asbury Theological Seminary in Christian Education. She is married to Ken Hagler, the associate minister at Cumming First United Methodist Church. Heather and Ken have two children, Logan and Jillian. Along with children’s ministry, Heather has also worked in curriculum development and as a preschool teacher and teacher’s assistant. In her spare time Heather enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her family.

Debra Hogg grew up in Galesburg, Kansas and was raised in the Christian Church. The oldest of four girls, she began taking music lessons in the third grade and serving in the music ministry at her church. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Debra decided to pursue an instrumental music ministry. She received a Bachelor of Music Ministry from Ozark Christian College with a major on the clarinet and minor on the piano and bassoon. Debra has been playing the piano, adding instrumentation, and assisting in the music ministry at Buford First UMC since August of 2009. She also teaches private piano and woodwind lessons and serves as a director at New School of Music. Her favorite verses are Psalms 150 and Col 3:16-17. Besides music, Debra enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with kids, family games, watching movies, animals, nature, and baking.

Susan is involved in many facets of the church to include serving as Vice President of the UMW, Secretary of the Church Board, The Evangelism Committee, and the Building Committee. She is also an active member of the Carol Scott Circle. Susan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from North Georgia College in 1991 and spent approximately 12 years working with adults and children with developmental disabilities. Susan joined our nursery staff in 2008. She and her husband Mike, have one daughter, Audree.
